7 Tips for Effective Time Management
It’s getting increasingly difficult to finish all of our tasks these days. Doesn’t really help that we have an ongoing pandemic that I believe is going to stay with us for a long while. Highly driven people can often be seen juggling multiple projects, sometimes not having the time to finish a single one.
So how do we manage our life and get work done productively? I’m glad you you asked.
1. Set Goals
This might seem obvious, but it’s easier to manage your time effectively when you know what targets you want to hit. It helps keep you on track, and you won’t waste energy and time doing tasks that don’t benefit the goals you’ve set for yourself.
It’s a good way to prioritize your energy and resources. Unlike the sun, if we don’t consider our next step, we’ll burn out.
2. Form a routine
A routine is the easiest way to manage your time effectively. This is because you’ll know when and at what time you’re supposed to be doing something. Setting an alarm helps a lot if you find yourself juggling multiple tasks at any given time. Use all the tools you have to keep you on track.
3. Work In “A No Distraction Zone”
This means no Instagram, Facebook or Tik Tok. I would go as far as saying if you have trouble staying away from your phone, keep it off while working.
The second thing I would recommend is working in a room or space in which no one can ever disturb you. If you stay with your family or friends you can always let them know before hand when you’re about to work on something big. This will ensure that you don’t get interrupted and get distracted.
Distractions (when they pile up) take so much of our productivity away.

4. Take breaks
Seriously, take breaks. Reward yourself with some nice treats. This will allow your mind to refresh. It helps to re-visit ongoing projects with a clear mind, this will allow you to focus and not get easily distracted.
You might even generate new ideas.
5. Become a “work-space minimalist”
Remove any unnecessary items from your work table. Any old papers, files or gadgets that are not important to what you’re doing only get in the way of you working effectively.
You might take 5 or so minutes looking for something in a cluttered work space instead of working; and this might affect your mood and overall performance. To organize our workspace allows us to have a smoother working experience.
And yes, that helps us manage our time even better.
6. Don’t Procrastinate, Don’t be afraid to fail
We procrastinate when we’re afraid we’ll fail, it’s only natural. It usually happens when we’re not really thinking about it.

7. Delegate
If you’re able to hire experts in your field, you should.
People who enjoy having full control over their business probably didn’t enjoy hearing me saying that; but there’s truth to it.
Think about it, when you delegate smaller tasks to other people, it allows you to put more energy into projects that deserve your full attention. Win-Win.
It’s obviously important to make sure you research whoever you’re delegating tasks to and make sure they’ll get the job done effectively. If you’re looking to outsource tasks, look no further than Christine Chingono Virtual Solutions – she is an amazing VA, Social Media Manager and Copywriter!
